「梅花堂越山」は、文久元年（一八六一）、立花藩御用菓子司として創業。西日本名産百選、明治神宮菓道敬神会名誉総裁表彰など受賞歴も数々ある、代々の技を今に受け継ぐ老舗です。「越山もち」は、二時間もかけ丹念に練り上げた求肥でしっとりとした 白餡を包んだ餅菓子。やわらかな舌ざわりと口の中でトロリととけるおいしさ、まぶした四国産の和三盆糖が風味を引き立てます。姿も小ぶりで、お茶菓子として愛される柳川を代表する銘菓です。

Baikado Kossan was founded in 1861 as an official purveyor of confections to the Yanagawa Domain.
